Landon IP’s Patent Search Group is recruiting Patent Analyst with all levels of experience. We are currently recruiting patent analysts for full-time. Full-time positions offer competitive compensation and benefits package.

Job Description

  • Strategically perform searches relating to patentability (novelty), validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement 
  • Draft invention disclosures and patent applications, as required
  • Communicate effectively with customers in determining the scope of searches and draft informative reports that clarify and summarize search results
  • Maintain proficiency with commercial patent databases and other proprietary databases that disclose technical publications.
  • Conduct long-term patent landscape studies to identify trends in a technology field, deliver competitive intelligence and identify potential research and licensing opportunities Advancement opportunities include – § The possibility of a management role as the company continues to grow

Job Requirements

  • Degree and background in the following areas:
    • Business methods: Investment Planning/Stock-Bond Trading; Credit and Loan Processing; Electronic Funds Transfer; Business Cryptography; Electronic commerce; Operations Research; Point of Sale Systems; Electronic Shopping & Catalog Systems; Inventory Management; Accounting; Tax Processing.
    • Electrical Engineering: Semiconductors; Nanodevices; Control Systems; Electrical Circuits and Components.
    • Electrical Communications: Cellular Technology; Networking; Wireless Communications.
    • Chemical: Pharmaceutical and organic chemistry.
    • Medical Devices: Surgery and prostheses.
    • Mechanical Engineering: Turbo machinery, complex automotive.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical literature in the area of subject matter expertise
  • Highly skilled developing a search methodology and in conducting searches
  • Significant experience in the patent field, specifically in patent searching and analysis is a plus.
  • Former USPTO examiners, and Registered Patent Agents preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills
